Added new pics!

Just added some new work in progress pics for the portfolio piece I've been working on.  Its really been one of the projects where you take the time to refine your skills and experiment a bit.  One of the hardest things I've had to decide, is should I just rush through it or go back and forth between another project.

What I have decided on is to concentrate on this project and see where my skills are with 3d Studio Max and Gamebryo.  The sad thing about it is that when I had created the project to work in Gamebryo to find out that the Emergent (ex - owners of Gamebryo) went under.  So its highly unlikely any studios even including Bethesda who has used it for years isn't any longer going to be using it.  With that said I'm going to finish this project and work on the next one in UDK and Maya.

Anyways, this project is based on one of the Catholic churches built in all of Spain.  Since I'm a big fan of Assassin's Creed and historical settings, I wanted a Spanish inspired environment using Gamebryo.

I made this stained glass window texture is made from combination of both geometry and alphas made in 3d Studio Max, Xnormal, and Photoshop.  I'm still in the process of adding more color variation  to the glass sections.  When that's all finished I'm going to add desaturated blue or green to take out some of the saturation.

I am currently concentrating my efforts on the courtyard area and then moving around to the front entrance.  Pretty much anything you see at this moment that is white has not been textured yet.  The trees are pretty much placeholders at the moment.  I may add more buildings surrounding the church at a later time.

Push Power

Time to try out this whole blogging thing out and see what comes of it.  I'm actually pretty excited to have the opportunity to show the progression of my artwork, thoughts, and opinions on various things.  Hopefully this blog will be helpful and inspiring to other aspiring artists.

Even though times have been tough as of late, all you really can do is keep your head up, push ahead and believe in a better tomorrow.

I'll be posting up some work in progress stuff later today.  Back to work!
